"Grilg’r sat on the floor, as he usually did, staring into the distance. Sweet smoke from the brazier hung in a thin cloud, permeating the room. The home of the clan mother and her mate was humble, compared to what others would call a “Dwarfhold,” but for the duorfin of the Black Mountains, the term held a deeper meaning. While other clans pursued power and safety through technology, the duorfin had turned to their forgotten traditions, ancestors, and gods, and ancient, wild magicks."
